"This is a great devotional for teen girls to grow in their faith. Since each one can be read on 5 minutes it makes it easy to make it a part of their day and it is a small soft cover book so it is convenient to take along with them.
Each day contains a scripture verse and a current day story relating to that verse. It ends with a prompt to reflect on. At the top of the page is the title referring to the topic of that devotion. This makes it easy to skip to a section that pertains to a specific topic that they may curremtly need clarity on.
It would make a great gift for any teen girl and would make a meaninful comfirmation gift.

- thoughtfully written. good for teens
- When an author writes from experience, the book comes over as being much more real. That is what this book is ..... REAL! She had a mentor (older girl) when she was a teenager, has taught many and now has a young adult daughter of her own.
There are 150, one page devotionals so they are short enough to read before school/life each day. Each one has a scripture, devotion and reflect/challenge section. Page 17 is "Honor Your Parents". No matter "whether the relationship is wonderful or challenging, the Bible commands us to show honor to our father and mother". Many devotions address the dangers of 'perfection'. Don't compare yourself to the 'perfected' photos online. Uplifting as well as challenging. I LOVE the warning not to let tragedy consume your thoughts i.e. don't constantly be watching the news.
Find help with deciding what to say when sharing your faith. What does a cow have to do with meditating on the Bible? Find out on Page 78. Reinforces the fact that sex is best saved for marriage.
At the end of the book you will find the Index of Topics. Depending on the maturity of your child, this book may be more suitable for a child older than 13. I received a free copy from the publisher. - I received a copy of this book from the publisher to review. What I really like about this book is that the very first devotion is on balance. I think that is very important for out teen girls today. As I browsed the topics, I was very pleased with the subject matter of this book. I have given this to my daughter to go through with the confidence that it will deal with things she is or will be facing.
- Melanie's wisdom and practical application of scripture in this devotional is a delightful, easy-to-read, offering of daily encouragement, relatable stories, and insightful reflections that invited me to look at God's Word and apply it to my daily life. As someone who has lived through my own teen-age years, and as a mother to a young-adult daughter, I feel this book addresses many of the relevant topics important to girls.

This devo has a simple format Each day has a verse, a related story or devotional, and then reflection questions. What I liked about it was how it encourages young women to apply truth to their lives. I also love the format the theme is written in the top corner of the page, so readers can also thumb through and read a devotional that meets the need they have at the moment. - Live in Light provides practical, biblical wisdom for anyone in bite-size pieces. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading and applying it daily. This devotional is a much-needed guidebook for teen girls (and honestly anyone). MELANIE gives us just enough to chew, meditate and focus on each day. I absolutely love this book and look forward to giving it as a gift to my nieces and anyone whom I think can benefit from it. I plan to use it with my boys, but they won't know the target audience is teen girls. ;) It provides practical, biblical insight and wisdom in just the right amount. It allows time to ponder and reflect without being overwhelmed or too wordy. I’ve enjoyed it for myself and I am not a teenager.

Each day opens with a verse and closes with a reflection question. There are some spiritual practices and additional resources referenced throughout as well.
